More about Grace

What was your first concert?

Phil Collins officially, but for your reading pleasure, it was Liberace and then Julio Iglesias.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about you?

I can read upside down and remember phone numbers from long, long ago.

Who is someone you admire, and why?

My mom.  She bravely came to the US, with the wrong luggage and with zero friends or family for support, to start a family here while my dad did his medical residencies and fellowships. When I think of how communication was back in the 70s, and her only link to back home were occasional expensive phone calls and mailed letters, I can’t help but feel amazing respect for her.

What “lesson from mom” do you still live by today?

Always carry cash in your wallet.  You just never know…
