Jeengle Privacy Policy

Introduction

At Jeengle (“Jeengle”; “we”; “us”; “our”), we are exciting humans to give more to humanity by making giving easy.

Jeengle’s Privacy Policy has been put in place in order to establish our commitment to online privacy – and ultimately, to protect the privacy of our users and donors and their relationship with Jeengle. As an organization, we respect privacy and aim to be as nonintrusive as possible. If we collect information from you, we will collect, secure and use it only as outlined below:

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION?

Jeengle actively gathers personally identifiable information when you, as a user and/or donor, actively share it. Examples of this include sharing your email address, birthdate, phone number or address when subscribing to our email newsletter, making a donation, participating in a contest entry, contributing to Jeengle’s social media, participating in a survey or any other communication with us – both online and offline.

Jeengle passively gathers non-identifiable personal information when we collect Internet Protocol Addresses. Additionally, we passively gather non-identifiable information via Google Analytics (see “WHAT INFORMATION ARE WE COLLECTING” below).

WHAT INFORMATION ARE WE COLLECTING?

Jeengle collects identifiable information such as your email address, birthdate, phone number or address.

Jeengle collects non-identifiable information about how users are visiting Jeengle’s website. This information may include how users land on Jeengle’s website, the length of time users spend on any given page, what links users click on or how users navigate Jeengle’s website as a whole.

Jeengle uses Google Analytics, a third-party web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., to collect non-identifiable information from our users. Google Analytics uses Cookies to help the website analyze how users interact with Jeengle’s interface. In turn, Google Analytics allows Jeengle to identify and analyze how users navigate Jeengle’s website. This information allows Jeengle to efficiently tailor the user experience, flow of our website and overall content to the taste and interest of our users. Google Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. If you want to opt out of Google Analytics, visit Google Ad Settings to download and install the add-on for your web browser. This will opt you out of being tracked across all online use – including Jeengle’s website.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH IT?

Jeengle may use the identifiable information to understand your needs and provide you with a better user experience. Specifically, Jeengle may use your identifiable information for the following reasons:

Jeengle may use the information to contact you regarding Jeengle’s business, services, launches and updates. Additionally, Jeengle may contact you to respond to your inquiries. Jeengle may also use the information to help us analyze, develop, deliver, maintain and improve our communication.
Jeengle may use the information to improve our business, services and website.
Jeengle may use the information to engage in ordinary business, fundraising, marketing and relationship-building communication with you.
Jeengle may use the information for internal record keeping.

DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?

Jeengle will not share, trade or sell your name or contact information with/to any other third-party organizations or entities.

Jeengle may share non-identifiable information such as your age, gender and location with our grantee organizations. The information that may be shared will simply be demographics. To reiterate, Jeengle will not share, trade or sell your name or contact information with/to any other third-party organizations or entities – including our grantee organizations.

Additionally, Jeengle will never use phone, email or mail to reach out to you on behalf of our grantee organizations.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SECURE?

Jeengle’s online giving page is a service provided by Give Lively. Give Lively is PCI Level 1 Compliant and shares Jeengle’s commitment to keeping your information secure. Please review the Give Lively Privacy Policy for further details.

Give Lively partners with Stripe, Inc., a payment processor, to process your donations; therefore, some of the information you provide will be shared with Stripe. If you wish, please review Stripe’s Privacy Policy prior to providing us with payment information. Please note that the payment information that you provide at the time of donation is 1) never seen by Give Lively or Jeengle, 2) is used only to process your donation and will not be stored or used for any other purpose.

Give Lively also uses Plaid Technologies, Inc. to gather your data from financial institutions to process direct debit/ACH/bank transactions. In making a donation to Jeengle via direct debit/ACH/bank transactions, you grant Give Lively and Plaid the right, power and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from the relevant financial institution. You agree to your personal and financial information being transferred, stored and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid Privacy Policy.

Outside of your personal payment information, Jeengle utilizes a number of third-party services for marketing and customer relationship management that may handle some personal information. These services’ policies can be found here:

HOW TO UNSUBSRCIBE AND/OR OPT OUT FROM COMMUNICATION?

You can opt out of our email newsletters and campaigns at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link that is present at the bottom of every email. To remove yourself from all Jeengle communication or to update your preferences, please email unsubscribe@jeengle.org.

LINKS TO EXTERNAL WEBSITES

Jeengle’s website contains links to third-party websites – specifically, the grantee organizations that Jeengle supports. Jeengle has no control of the Privacy Policies of those websites. Please check the Privacy Policies of any linked external, third-party websites.

DONOR BILL OF RIGHTS

Jeengle adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights, which was created by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Giving Institute: Leading Consultants to Non-Profits:

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To assure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:

I. To be informed of the organization’s mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.

II. To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization’s governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.

III. To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.

IV. To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.

V. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.

VI. To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

VII. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.

VIII. To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.

IX. To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.

X. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.

CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT (COPPA)

According to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), “COPPA imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 years of age, and on operators of other websites or online services that have actual knowledge that they are collecting personal information online from a child under 13 years of age.”

Jeengle firmly supports the act and believes in protecting the privacy of the very young. We will never collect or keep information within our internal records from those that we know are under the age of 13.

Additionally, a parent or legal guardian may reach out to Jeengle directly to request that we delete the personal information of his/her child from our records. You can contact us at privacy@jeengle.org.

UPDATING OUR POLICY

Jeengle may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. As a result, please refer back to this Privacy Policy on a regular basis. If the Privacy Policy changes in the future, we will not use any personal information you have submitted to us under the current Privacy Policy in a manner that contradicts the updated Privacy Policy, without your prior consent.
